Wide-cut seeding machine «Agro-Soyuz ATD» manufactured by Corporation «Agro-Soyuz» (Ukraine) is consisted of air planter with packing wheels and seeding bin.
This seeding machine is the implementation of resource saving technology of conservative tillage with simultaneous soil fertility recovery for further crop growing ensuring high yields.
The seeding machine «Agro-Soyuz ATD» is designed for single-row seeding and precise application of liquid, dry or gas fertilizers under the seeding horizon with packing and does not require preliminary tillage. Such joint operation decreases soil compaction, seeding terms and fuel-oil consumption.
The seeding machine «Agro-Soyuz ATD» conserves soil structure, prevents erosion and reduces moisture losses.

Seeding machines «Agro-Soyuz ATD» are offered in three widths — 9, 8 m (ATD 9.35), 11, 9 m (ATD 11.35) and 18, 2 m (ATD 18.35) with four rows of openers. Each machine is hydraulically foldable to the width of 5, 7 m.
Pneumatic packing wheels
Planter «Agro-Soyuz ATD» is equipped with pneumatic packing wheels operating even in high humidity conditions due to pressure control and special self-cleaning tread pattern.
Each seeded strip is packed with corresponding wheel of soil compactor ensuring equal soil pressure within implement width. This affords auspicious conditions for seed germination.

Pneumatic dozing and seed distribution system
The pneumatic metering and seed distribution system was tested in different conditions resulting in perfection of metering and distribution accuracy. The system is simple in construction and adjustment, and consists of a few removable components to change for width selection.
The body of the meter is manufactured from wear-proof polyurethane. Different rotors of the meter are used for different types of seeds. They are easy to change in a few minutes without any special tools.
Specially profiled rotor feed channel provides good cell filling and ensures accurate metering at different speed levels of rotation of the rotor.
Dosing system is offered in two versions:
- with mechanical drive from the wheel;
- with electrical drive equipped with electronic control and management system including radar and electronic dosing unit «Drill Manager».
Control system is consisted of special sensors installed on the seed channel, in the seed hopper and on the drill spools. This system controls not only each seed channel but each air hose of granular fertilizer feeding. «Feeding hose plugged» signal or «Seeding unit fault» message is displayed in tractor cabin simplifying diagnostics and excluding uneven seeding.
The system allows controlling seed hopper filling rate for optimization of seeding logistics.
Leveling discs
Leveling discs installed on the operative parts of “Agro-Soyuz ATD” planter return soil to the seeding strip ensuring perfect soil packing.
Seeding machine is equipped with shanks preventing opener damage. Shank is the most effective and the most reliable unit in a class by itself.
Shanks
Shank body and spring are manufactured from high-strength cast iron with globular graphite. This mechanism requires no maintenance and adjustments during the whole life cycle of the planter. Shank actuation force is 450 kg.
Spooled seeding unit
This unit is equipped with several removable spools allowing seeding of different types of seeds (size varies from 1 to 10 mm) to different soils.
- Cereals: wheat, barley, oats, rye, triticale, sorghum, rice.
- Large seeds: corn, peas, kidney beans, soy, sunflower.
- Small seeds: grass, clover, rape seed, alfalfa.
Cutting discs
Height and location of seeding machine operative parts allow direct stubble sowing. Cutting discs are designed for high-residue fields. Discs performs cutting of large corn and sunflower stubble remains ensuring high-quality seeding.
Seeding bin
The volume of seeding bins is from 10m3 (double-section) till 17m3 (double- and triple-section). The bins are equipped with self-unloading auger for direct seed loading from supporting vehicle. The capacity of loading auger is 1 ton per minute.

SEEDING MACHINE «Agro-Soyuz ATD» — holds the World Record!
On April 24, 2003 the World Record was held on CJSC «Agro-Soyuz» fields (Mayskoye, Sinelnokovo district, Dnepropetrovsk region, Ukraine): one machine planted 571, 9 hectares of spring barley with simultaneous application of granular fertilizers per 24 hours. This record is included into Guinness World Book of Records. The seeding machine «Agro-Soyuz» ATD 18.35 was towed by 500 HP «Challenger» from AGco Company. Seeding accuracy was ensured by GPS system from Australian company «Beeline».
Two years later on May 17, 2005 Russian Company «Inteko-Agro» (Maliye Mayachki village, Prokhorovo district, Belgorod region, Russia), held the second World Record:
Within 24 hours seeding machine «Agro-Soyuz ATD» with bin and LF application reservoir towed by Caterpillar Challenger MT 865 tractor planted sunflower hybrid «syngenta seeds» at the rate of sixty thousands seeds per hectare.
Again, on May 21, 2005 Company «Inteko-Agro» used the same seeding machine «Agro-Soyuz» ATD 18.35 to hold the third World Record — they planted 740 hectares of corn.
The forth World Record was broken by Ukrainian seeding machine «Agro-Soyuz ATD» in October 2006.
According to the Manager of Business Project «Agricultural Machinery» of «Inteko-Agro» Limited Viacheslav Korsakov, there were no malfunctions of seeding machine and its potential is not fully discovered yet. Results of the World Record: the total planted area — 624, 6 hectares/24 hours; Seeding rate of winter wheat — 220 kg/hectare; average productivity — 26 hectares/hour; fuel consumption — 5 l/hectare; fertilizer rate — 200 kg/hectare (liquid nitrogen fertilizers).
